I graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2008, obtaining my Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSP) degree. Immediately following that, I completed an accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency with the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region (RQHR). After finishing my residency, I transitioned into a Staff Pharmacist position; at the same time my leadership journey ramped up as I completed the Saskatchewan Institute of Health Leadership course. Within the year, I was beginning to take on more and more leadership responsibility within RQHR, including coordination of staff orientation, overseeing the undergraduate experiential training in RQHR, and precepting Pharmacy Residents. Over the next several years I worked through evolving leadership positions where largely I was responsible for training and orientation of new staff, as well as serving as a coordinator and preceptor to all levels of pharmacy learners. In my current role as Clinical Support Pharmacist, I am fortunate to continue these activities, as well as provide clinical support to the regional Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, coordinate weekly pharmacist education rounds, and precept several Pharmacy Residency rotations (eg, knowledge translation and evidence-based medicine). I’ve maintained clinical practices for inpatient internal medicine, with more specialized work in our ambulatory anticoagulation management service and heart failure clinic. Aside from RQHR, I am the current Saskatchewan Delegate on the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists’ (CSHP) Board of Directors and an online Moderator coach for the joint CSHP-Canadian Pharmacists Association ADAPT program. Outside of the Pharmacy world, I am a father of three busy children, I enjoy golfing and fishing, I am kettlebell enthusiast, and I am an active website designer and developer.

I am looking forward to the next step in my leadership journey by cementing my leadership skills acquired during the ASHP Foundation Leadership Academy. Following the course, I began a journey to pursue my Masters degree in leadership.
